Position Summary:

The Area Business Manager is responsible for achieving sales goals, developing new business, and managing relationships with healthcare professionals in the assigned territory. ABM will lead a team of Territory Business Manager and work closely with healthcare professionals, hospitals, and distributors to promote and sell Biocomposites Products (Orthopaedic, Spine & Diabetic foot).

Key Responsibilities:

- Sales & Business Development

  • Meet or exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans to grow market share.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with orthopaedic surgeons and hospitals.
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to surgeons and medical staff.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the territory (including time in operating rooms).

- Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Territory Sales Executives or Medical Representatives.
  • Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and ensure achievement of individual and team goals.
  • Conduct joint fieldwork, coaching, and on-the-job training.

- Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with KOL’s (e.g., surgeons, OR staff, hospital procurement).
  • Provide clinical support during surgeries and advise on product selection and techniques.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer needs in the territory.
  • Organize and support clinical demonstrations, workshops, and CME programs.

- Product & Clinical Knowledge

  • Stay up to date on product offerings, surgical techniques, and market trends.
  • Train and educate customers on the safe and effective use of company products.
  • Provide in-theatre support during surgical procedures.

- Channel Partner Management

  • Build and maintain a strng professional relationship with the distributor. Act as the primary point of contact for resolving issues or concerns.
  • Track distributr payments and manage credit limits. Follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collection.
  • Cnduct regular meetings and visits to maintain engagement and alignment.
  • Ensure timely placement and fulfilment f orders. Monitor stock levels to avoid understocking or overstocking. Coordinate with logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Train distributr staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and systems.
  • Market Intelligence & Reporting
    • Monitor competitor activities and report insights to management.
    • Maintain accurate records, including customer information, sales activities, and forecasts.
    • Prepare regular sales reports and business reviews.

- Compliance & Ethics

  • Adhere to all company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local healthcare laws and regulations (e.g., FDA, MDR).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelr’s degree, or Business Management (preferred).
  • Basic Cmputer Skills (Office)
  • Minimum f 5 – 7 years of sales experience in medical devices, ideally Orthopaedic, Diabetic foot, surgical sales.
  • Familiarity with orthopaedic surgical procedures and hospital systems.
  • Experience supprting surgeons in operating room environments.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
