BACKGROUND: The Region Sales Director will primarily be responsible for the management, development, and expansion of the Biocomposites Inc. sales distribution network. The Region Sales Director will manage the Mid-Atlantic Region which includes NC, SC, MD, OH & VA. Will report to the Vice President US Sales and collaborate in the development of the regional annual business plan including the sales strategy, forecast and expense budgets. He/she will manage a team of Product Specialists and Distributor partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

. Achieve sales department’s regional quarterly and annual objectives by strategic segments.

. Ensure there is a high caliber, performing distributor network in place for all specialties, identifying, recruiting, and replacing distributors where appropriate.

· Build strong relationships with distributor principal and 1099s to influence resource allocation and focus on Biocomposites’ products while selling compliantly with approved messaging.

. Lead in securing product approval in new hospitals. Increase surgeon product usage in existing buying hospitals.

· Leverage data and insight to prioritize and allocate resources.

· Recruit, interview, hire and train Product Specialists. Provide continued management and direction to regional Product Specialists to achieve their respective sales plans.

· Maintain regional expenses within budgeted quarterly allocations.

· Provide surgeon product feedback and identify surgeon challenges and opportunities to inform new product development.

· Always represent the company in a professional manner to fellow employees and subordinates as well as distributors, customers, and shareholders.

· Travel extensively (3 days a week / 3 weeks per month) throughout the region to sell the company’s products, recruit, manage and motivate independent representatives and distributors, building direct relationships with key customers and distributors to refine and upgrade sales coverage.

· Collaborate with Area Sales Managers.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

· 5 to 7 years of sales/marketing medical device/pharmaceutical management experience in the orthopedics (total joint reconstruction) field to include extensive experience in identifying, supporting and managing hip and knee distribution partners.

· Managing and working through a distribution network is preferred.

· A college degree is required. Preferred in marketing, business administration, or related health field.

· An advanced degree or MBA is highly desirable.

· Unimpeachable ethics; high integrity.

· A “hands-on” and energetic management style with the interpersonal skills required to build a successful distributor organization.

· The ability and desire to motivate and inspire distributor principals as well as field sales team members leading them to ultimate success.

· A measurable track record of success. Consistently exceed established objectives.

· Ability to define tactics, tools, and resources necessary to execute and manage an effective sales strategy within a growing “leading edge” organization.

· Experienced in developing relationships with senior (champion) surgeons who will influence product purchases while developing secondary surgeon product support.

· A passion for listening, particularly to customer and sales force ideas and comments, and the willingness to identify and isolate key customers’ hidden concerns.

· Create solutions in response to clinical, technical, or financial objections related to products.

· Maturity, patience, and vision to effectively lead a rapidly growing hybrid regional sales team.

· Possess excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong negotiating skills and the ability to present ideas to individuals or groups effectively.

· Must be an open, confident team player able to work with diverse personalities within an overlapping and growing hybrid sales model.

LOCATION: fully remote in North Carolina, South Carolina or Virginia.

WORKING HOURS: 8am-5pm, 40 hours per week.
